Mountain Bike Workshop for Girls

Have a blast becoming a more confi-dent rider and have a ton of fun learning how to jump, teeter, balance and handle your bike be-fore hitting the trails.

Date: Friday, March 19th, 2010
Time: 1-3 PM
Meeting at Acadia Athletic Complex

PLEASE NOTE: There is no charge for this workshop however registration is required. Bikes need to be in working order. Please indicate if a bike and helmet are needed. If weather should be ugly or messy we will be indoors.

Wolfville Learn To Run Program

Participants will be guided through a ten week run- walk program in preparation for a 5 km entry level event with Janet Mooney, an experienced Learn To Run Leader and certified personal trainer. This Learn to Run Program is designed for true beginners and will feature weekly presentation on topics of interest and will focus on building a foundation for injury free running. Midweek running and cross training homework will be on your own, or with fellow participants. Childcare will be available if there is demand.

Winter Adventures with Monkey! March Break Camp 2010

Monday, March 15th – Friday, March 19th
8:30am-4:30pm
Meeting at the Wolfville Recreation Centre, 7 Victoria Avenue, Wolfville

$80.00 per participant (payable at registration)
Registration is limited to 12 participants aged 6-9 & 12 participants aged 10-12

Lunches and snacks will be the responsibility of participant families. Please
be sure to pack a substantial and healthy lunch, and snacks in a labelled
lunch container each day. There is a fridge at the centre for keeping food fresh.
All camps are “nut” free.

We will be spending a great deal of time outdoors so please plan to dress
participants appropriately for the weather; and include a change of clothing in
case clothing should get wet. Indoor and outdoor footwear will be necessary
each day.

Activities planned for the week include:
• Making your own sock monkey
• Winter sports and games with The Trail Shop
• Indoor Soccer (Kentville Indoor Soccer Centre)
• Swimming (ages 6-9)
• Curling (ages 10-12)
• Activities at Grand Pre Historic Site (Costumes & Building activities)
• Clay Pot Gardening at the Harriet Irving Garden
• Cooking Up a Storm with Strive for Five
• Thursday will be a snow shoe or hike trip to Cape Split

Climate Protection in Wolfville

Climate Protection in Wolfville

The Town is a member of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities – Partners for Climate Protection Program. This group is a network of Canadian municipal governments that have committed to reducing greenhouse gases and acting on climate change. The Program involves a Five Milestone process and Wolfville will soon complete the first milestone – an inventory of Green House Gas emissions for Wolfville. The chart below shows the emissions attributable to the Town Corporate operations that forms part of the Milestone 1 work.
