Corporate Strategic Plan - 2009
On Monday November 16, 2009, Town Council approved their four year Corporate Strategic Plan. As Council moves forward with implementing the Corporate Strategic Plan it is important to understand the implementation process and the role of a strategic plan within the organization.
Council is adopting an intended direction, they are not approving a budget for each item in a Strategic Plan or committing to delivering each item when the plan is approved. The Strategic Plan is used as the foundation for yearly budgeting. While high level directions set by the Strategic Plan shouldn’t change over its four year life unless circumstances drastically alter, specific tasks to be accomplished each year are prioritized / identified each year and approved by Council on a yearly basis through the budget process. Staff, Committees of Council, business and the public may have input on priorities on a yearly basis. To view Council's Corporate Strategic Plan please click on the link below.

Meeting Time Changes in New Year
Be advised that starting in January 2010, the Committee of Council meetings currently being held the first Monday of each month at 7:30 pm, will be held during the afternoon from 1:30 pm to 4 pm. This practice will continue for a trial period from January to July 2010 inclusive and will be evaluated to determine which time (afternoon or evening) will be the designated meeting time in the future. The date will remain the first Monday of each month, except where that day is a holiday, which will move the meeting to the next day. Regular meetings of Council are posted on the website's Calendar of Events, with agenda packages being attached the Friday prior to the meeting.

Public Communication and Participation Plan
The Town has engaged RAMP UP Consultants Carol Macomber and Maria Medioli to prepare a public communication and participation plan. The purpose of the exercise is to develop clear avenues for the public to stay informed and participate in town issues which affect them. The goal is to gain an understanding of the best municipal communication and public participation programs in the country and internationally, and ultimately to meet this standard. We need the public’s help to achieve this goal.
