Draft Strategic Plan

Due to concern from residents that the allotted time period to respond to the plan was not sufficient Town Council has made the following decisions:

Transportation Plan Initiative
The recently adopted Municipal Planning Strategy has recommended
that Council prepare a comprehensive transportation plan for the Town.
Council is now reviewing a process for preparing such a plan which
would provide for significant public engagement in the process of
preparing the plan. A community wide study circles program is being
considered. This form of public engagement has been used successfully
in many parts of the world to resolve difficult and complicated
community issues. In summary it involves the creation of many small
groups of 8 to 12 people of varied interests and backgrounds (a study
circle) who will work together over a period of time ( several months
to a year) to learn about, discuss and make recommendations for
resolution of an issue.
Council will be considering discussion documents on this process in upcoming meetings.
