No Smoking in Vehicles with Children Present Bylaw

On Monday November 19th, Wolfville Town Council unanimously approved second reading of Bylaw #89, cited as "Smoke Free Vehicles Bylaw." This bylaw will protect children and youth eighteen years of age and under from the harmful effects of second hand smoke in vehicles. Under this bylaw, which will come into effect June 1, 2008, violators could face fines from $50 to $200. Leading up to the enactment of the Smoke Free Vehicles Bylaw, the Town of Wolfville will be working with the local Smoke Free Kings organization to develop and implement a comprehensive education campaign to promote the importance of a smoke free environment.
