Public Awareness and Support are Critical elements in Emergency Planning.
The most immediate help after a disaster is from people nearby when the event occurs. That means it is your work colleagues, neighbours, friends, family and members of the community who are the ones who will be giving or needing help.
Are you interested in helping your community and playing a critical role during major events, emergencies and disasters? Join the Town of Wolfville’s Emergency Volunteer Group and show you care for our Town and region.
The Wolfville Emergency Volunteer Group welcomes your application if you:
Note: All personal information will be retained by the EMC and not distributed to other organizations
You will be contacted if your help is needed. This will depend on: the needs of affected areas (which may take time to assess); volunteer availability, location and skills required. We encourage you, if safe, to help your family, friends, neighbours, and groups you are already connected with.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering to help the Town of Wolfville’s emergency response and recovery efforts
The Annapolis Valley Regional Library and the Town of Wolfville will be hosting a community consultation to explore the current and future needs of the library in Wolfville.
Stop by the Wolfville Farmers' Market from 2:30-6:00pm on November 4th, 2017 and add your voice - we'll be asking some questions about how you want to use the library, what the library needs, and more. This is your chance to tell us if it is time to grow the library.
An online questionnaire is available HERE for those who cannot attend this event but still wish to offer their opinion.
This is the start of a process that will evolve as we move toward making decisions and taking action on our library.

Recreational, or non-medical, cannabis is expected to be legal in Canada by July 2018. The federal government plans to pass legislation that sets a framework for legalizing recreational cannabis. Within this federal framework, provinces and territories must make their own rules and regulations for sale, possession and use.
Nova Scotia is working hard to get ready and to ensure provincial policies and laws strike a balance between making this product legal and protecting the health and safety of Nova Scotians, especially children and youth.
The Province of Nova Scotia has launched a public consultation so Nova Scotians can have their say. This is a significant change for Canadians – and for our province. As we develop rules and regulations for Nova Scotia, it is important we hear from everyone.
