The Community Partnership Program provides financial assistance to not for profit or charitable organizations that operate, sponsor or encourage programs, projects, facilities or events for the benefit of residents of the Town of Wolfville. The deadline for application is February 28. Organizations interested in applying to the CPP program should contact the Director of Community Services to dicuss their request at 542-2400 or via e-mail at jboyd@wolfville.ca.

OBJECTIVES
1. To provide financial assistance to not for profit or charitable organizations that operate facilities which are available for use by residents of the Town of Wolfville.
2. To provide financial assistance to not for profit or charitable organizations that organize and operate recreation programs for the benefit of the residents of the Town of Wolfville.
3. To provide financial assistance to not for profit or charitable organizations that coordinate and implement festivals and events in the town of Wolfville.
CRITERIA
The following criteria will be used to evaluate each application.
1. Sustainability: Groups should show evidence of past success and demonstrate that they have taken steps to ensure continued operation.
2. Financial Management: Groups must generate monies besides those provided by the Community Partnership Program. These revenues may include registration/membership fees, admission fees and monies obtained through fundraising. Groups should demonstrate responsibility and accountability in their use of resources.
3. Openness and Accessibility: Groups should be open and accessible to members of the community and show a willingness to involve others in their work.
4. Youth: Members or participants 18 years of age and under served by the organization will be considered in the allocation of funds.
APPLICATIONS
1. All applicants are required to use standard application forms available from the Department of Community Services.
2. All applications must be submitted to the Director of Community Services by February 28, each year in order to be considered for funding in the upcoming fiscal year. If applications are received after February 28 they may not be accepted or may only be considered for partial funding.
3. Special Project Grants may only be awarded to an organization once every two years.
4. Along with the standard application form, all applications MUST include:
• A detailed budget outlining estimated revenues and expenditures for the fiscal year in which the application is made.
• A year end statement of the previous year, as prepared for your Annual General Meeting.
• A final report on the use of the grant if one was received the previous year.
5. Upon receipt of applications each will be reviewed and assessed. Applicants will be notified of the status of their application once the Town budget is set. Funds are usually distributed in June.
6. Grant funding is subject to Council’s approval of the Community Partnership Program and as a result the Town may not be able to provide the amount requested in a given year. If there are changes to the Community Partnership Program, applicants will be notified.
7. The maximum amount awarded to any group for any Community Partnership Program grant will not exceed $5,000.
8. Applications will be kept on file for future reference.

Climate Protection in Wolfville
The Town is a member of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities – Partners for Climate Protection Program. This group is a network of Canadian municipal governments that have committed to reducing greenhouse gases and acting on climate change. The Program involves a Five Milestone process and Wolfville will soon complete the first milestone – an inventory of Green House Gas emissions for Wolfville. The chart below shows the emissions attributable to the Town Corporate operations that forms part of the Milestone 1 work.

The Town of Wolfville is now in Phase II of the 2010-11 Budget Process (see attached process document).
